6 Tips to Achieve Great Sleep for Weight Loss
Well the topic here on this blog is weight loss, so how do we incorporate proper sleep methods in with achieving weight loss and fitness goals. It's simple really. Having the proper amount of sleep allows our minds and bodies to repair and prepare for the day to come. Most of us need roughly eight hours of sleep, but some can handle less, and some need more.
Being rested properly will allow us to be more alert, aware, and energized for the day. Having these qualities will allow us to stay focused on our fitness routines and weight loss goals. Also, being deprived of sleep slows our immune system, and increases levels of stress. These two alone contribute to weight gain, so being well rested every night is a great weight loss technique itself.
First of all, you must create a relaxed environment that is only used for sleeping in your bedroom. Try using colors that aren't quite as bright, and if possible, do not watch tv in your room. Doing these things will allow your mind to associate your room as a calm and relaxed place that is meant only for sleeping.
Next, you should not eat at least two hours before you plan to go to bed. Doing this will not necessarily help you lose weight, but it will allow you to wind down and not have active digesting going on when you are trying to sleep. Eating provides you with energy, and eating close to bed time could make it difficult for you to wind down and get to sleep.
Try taking a warm bath or shower and also sleep in clean soft bed sheets and blankets. Also try to find the best position in which you sleep best with. Try experimenting for a few nights until you discover what works best for you.
One of my personal favorites is to listen to relaxing and soothing music as I am winding down to head to bed. I personally like to listen to hootie and the blowfish; a couple of their songs are relaxing, and Darius has a great soothing voice.
Another great tip for achieving good sleep is to not do anything highly active or adrenaline filled too close to bed. Doing things like working out and watching action packed movies can increase your heart rate and also make you think too much as you are trying to doze off.
Finally, try a flex and relax routine as you lay in bed at night. To do this, you simply flex all the muscles in your body, or flex different muscle groups and rotate around your body. You then hold these flexxes for about 5 seconds and then relax your muscles. This is a great method to simply relax your mind and body to help you fall asleep.
There you have it, 6 great tips to help you get to sleep at night and help contribute toward weight loss. Being properly rested allows us to accomplish more and stay focused on our fitness and health goals. I hope you enjoyed this article, and I will be back very soon with the next weight loss topic. See ya!

Cylaris Weight Loss
Cylaris Weight Loss
This is truly amazing. Cylaris weight loss formula is a new weight loss product that surely is making waves. The word is that it is now the strongest weight loss formula on the market, but how many times have we heard that saying before. This time around, this "over the top advertising spiel" may very well hold up.
Cylaris weight loss formula's effectiveness lies with something called Cissus Quadrangularis, which is also known as veld grape. This is a plant from India which has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for quite some time now.
Until recent studies, there was no data proving that veld grape had any positive effects on weight loss. Some studies, though, performed at the University of Yaounde, Cameroon prove that this ingredient is effective for weight loss. It also helps to lower blood sugar levels.
Of coarse downsides come along with these positive studies. Cylaris weight loss formula is a blend of ingredients, so we can't know if a daily dose contains the 300 mg of Cissus Quadrangularis extract that proved to aid weight loss in the studies. It is possible though, as Cylaris weight loss formula is a 522 mg blend.
Secondly, Cylaris weight loss formula advertises the Cissus Quadrangularis contained in its weight loss supplement. The study was performed on the Cylaris formulation itself which contains other ingredients: green tea, soy extract, chromium, selenium, b vitamins, folic acid, and caffeine. These contributing ingredients would make it difficult to isolate what has actually caused the weight loss results. Any of the other ingredients could have very well caused this.
The weight loss could have been due to the combination of such ingredients, and possible not just one such as Cissus Quadrangularis.
More studies would need to be put in place to determine if Cissus Quadrangularis actually aids in weight loss, but this new formula shows promise. As I said before in my post about weight loss pills
, don't expect a pill to accomplish your weight loss and fitness goals, you must continue to pursue a proper diet and active lifestyle as well. I would personally recommend this new Cylaris weight loss formula, as it is really showing results.
Thank you for reading, and I hope you are learning something from my posts here on my weight loss blog. I am on a mission to fight against the obesity epidemic, and I hope that I am making a difference in your life. Stay tuned for my next post, see you later!

Buying Vitamins
Buying Vitamins
It can be a very difficult task trying to keep up with and comprehend all the studies on vitamins, but taking a daily multivitamin is a great assurance that you are receiving the proper amount of nutrients to remain a healthy individual. There are many different kinds of vitamins and they all serve their own unique purpose within our bodies.
Being sure that we are receiving the right amount of each vitamin in our daily diets is an extremely difficult task, but buying vitamins can really help with this problem. If we continue to operate on a deficiency of the required vitamins, we can expect to see a drastic decrease in our good health, and we may begin to feel sluggish and get sick much easier. This calls for some of us to turn to buying vitamins, but we must first become aware of the different vitamins and what each of them do, so that we can make educated decisions when it comes to buying vitamins.
Vitamin A
Vitamin A does more than help us see in the dark, it stimulates the production and activity of white blood cells, regulates cell growth and division, takes part in remodeling bone, and helps maintain the cells of the bodies interior surfaces. It’s usually considered safe to get too much preformed vitamin A, but we must be sure to obtain enough in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Folate Acid
Folate acid is extremely important for women who have conceived in order to prevent their child from having certain birth defects. It is important that women take the recommended amount of folate acid during the very first stages of pregnancy.
Vitamin B6 and Vitamin B12
Researchers believe there may be a connection to reduced heart disease and the chances of getting certain cancers to the increased intake of vitamin B6 and vitamin B12. There’s still no evidence to support this theory though. Vitamin B6 and B12 does, however, play an important role in our bodies by recycling homocysteine into methionine, which is one of the 20 or so building blocks that the body uses to build new proteins. Without enough vitamin B6 and vitamin B12, this recycling process becomes inefficient and homocysteine levels increase within the body. This increased level of homocysteine is associated with increased risks of heart disease and stroke. This demonstrates how we must be sure that we receive the proper recommended amount of vitamin B6 and vitamin B12.
Vitamin C
Vitamin C has been in the public eye since its discovery in 1932. Experts realized that vitamin C could prevent scurvy, colds, and some chronic diseases. There is no question that vitamin C definitely plays a role in controlling infections. It’s also a powerful antioxidant that can neutralize harmful free radicals. Vitamin C also helps make collagen, which is a tissue needed for healthy bones, teeth, gums, and blood vessels. We do not need an excess amount of vitamin C to remain healthy, just enough from a multivitamin is more than enough to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Vitamin D
Vitamin D helps ensure that the body absorbs and retains calcium and phosphorus, both critical for building bone. Laboratory studies also show that vitamin D keeps cancer cells from growing and dividing, and plays a critical role in controlling infections.
These are just a few of the primary vitamins that are mandatory for day-to-day healthy well being. Most of these vitamins are obtainable through daily diet, but when diet isn’t enough, we must turn to buying vitamins to meet our nutritional needs. By educating ourselves and being aware of the necessary amount of each vitamin we need, we will be able to make wise decisions when it comes time to buying vitamins to supplement our daily diet.
Thank you for following along as I work to educate and motivate readers who wish to accomplish weight loss and fitness goals. We are entering an obesity epidemic, and I am on a mission to fight against it. Stay posted as I continue to publish new posts. If you are just joining me, please view one of my earlier posts about weight loss techniques. Please leave me a comment with any questions or comments you may have. Thanks!

Great Cardio Exercises
Hello everyone, I apologize I haven’t been posting lately. I have been extremely busy with my studies and such, but I am now on summer break for about a month. I will be publishing quite a few posts during this time period, so please stay posted, and also find out how to build great ab muscles in order to maintain great posture.
Great cardio exercises is what everyone should be doing, but the question is exactly what cardio exercises should one be doing? Well, the answer to that question depends largely on the preferred intensity and how many calories one is looking to spend up. Once these factors are determined, you will be ready to figure out which cardio exercise is best for you. Also realize that you must enjoy the cardio exercise you choose, as you should perform it day in and day out consistently.
Two Types of Cardio Exercises:
Slow & Steady Cardio
· Long duration (45min - 1 hour)
· Low intensity
· Burn fat and not carbohydrates
· Preserve joints
High Intensity Cardio
· Short duration (20min - 30min)
· High intensity (interval training)
· Burn tons of calories & rev up your metabolism throughout the day
· Treat Cardio like weights - explosive movements (sprinting, etc)
As you can see, both types of cardio workouts have their tremendous benefits. I would recommend performing both types for six weeks and track your progress as you go. It’s always good to have variety in your daily workout as well.
Some Great Cardio Exercises and How Many Calories Burned
1. Step Aerobics - one of the most favorite cardio exercises preferred by women. Step Aerobics mainly target your legs, hips and glutes, and can burn approx. 400 calories in 30 minutes.
2. Bicycling - stationary or outdoors is a great cardio exercises, depending on resistance and speed can but 250 to 500 calories in 30 minutes.
3. Swimming - like cross-country skiing is an excellent cardio exercises as it is a full body exercises. Swimming is a great cross training for other cardio exercises. Doing the breast stroke can burn approx. 400 calories in 30 minutes.
4. Racquetball - side-to-side sprinting makes racquetball an excellent cardio exercises. A 145-lb person burns over 400 calories in 30 minutes.
5. Rock Climbing - is not only a cardio exercises, but also uses arm and leg strength and power. Rock Climbing can burn up to 380 calories in 30 minutes.
6. Cross-Country Skiing - whether on a machine or outdoors on snow, is an incredible cardio exercises as it involves both upper and lower body. A 145 lb person can burn approx 330 calories in 30 minutes.
7. Running - Running is an excellent cardio exercises because all you need is a pair of quality running shoes. Running burns serious calories. A 145 LB person can easily burn 300 calories in 30 minutes.
8. Elliptical Trainer - is an excellent cardio exercises and a great way to build endurance. A 145 LB person can burn about 300 calories in 30 minutes.
9. Rowing - is both a cardio exercises as well as giving your arms an incredible workout. 145 LB person can burn about 300 calories in 30 minutes.
10. Walking - Brisk walking is a less strenuous form of cardio exercises. Walking can burn up to 180 calories in 30 minutes. Sprinting, adding hills or an incline can increase amount of calories burned.
For the real high intensity cardio people out there who love the H.I.I.T training (High Intensity Interval Training), below are the top three-cardio exercises, which will provide amazing results!
1. Jumping Rope - This is one of the simplest, yet most effective exercises one can do. In just 15 to 20 minutes, jumping rope will give you an unparalleled total body workout. Jumping rope is ideal for cardiovascular endurance and enhances performance in virtually any sport - tennis, basketball, football, skiing, volleyball and more. This simple exercise is also great for eye-hand coordination, lateral movement, foot and hand speed and agility.
2. Sprinting- Sprinting not only burns HUGE amounts of calories while sprinting; it also keeps your metabolism flying for days after. Sprinting combined with running / jogging can bring amazing results
3. Spinning - These high-intensity workouts to music simulate a challenging bike ride, complete with hills, valleys and varying speeds, all dictated by the group instructor.
I hope this information will be of great help to anyone in need. There are other ways to perform cardio exercise, but these are some of the more popular selections. Just be creative; there is so much that anyone can do to be active, and burn many calories while having fun.

A Great New DVD Website
Hey everyone, I would like to take a post to introduce this great new DVD Store. This website belongs to a close friend of mine, so I volunteered to advertise for him. I checked this website out, and it's off to a fantastic start. I couldn't find any lower prices for the items he offers in his store. This store was just opened nearly a month ago, so it is in the process of being stocked with fresh merchandise.
His store name is Drews Electronics, and he accepts safe payments through paypal, and Google checkout. It's OK if you don't have an account with either of these companies, he also accepts personal check, money order, and cashiers check.
Do yourself a favor and check this new website out, you won't regret it. You have nothing to lose.
I'll be back soon with the next weight loss topic. I apologize I haven't been around lately, I've been very busy with my studies. See you guys soon.

Drinking Soda Pop Can Lead to Over Weight
How's it going everyone?
I would like to discuss soda pop today and how unhealthy drinking it can be. I abandoned pop years ago once I realised how bad it was. In fact, many people can become over weight just by drinking a huge excess of pop. It's called drinking calories and much more with it, and this is a bad thing. The idea of drinking calories period is a no no, unless you are drinking protein shakes or other healthy concoctions. If you are new to my weight loss blog, please view my post about great cardio exercises, please visit my other postings as well to tag along with me in my fight against the obesity epidemic.
I was in psychology class today, when I analysed how many people were drinking soda. Much to my surprise, nearly half was doing so. I also noticed the correlation of obesity and drinking soda. Not one person that had a soda was of a good weight or health standing, and they were all at least somewhat over weight. You may notice this if you pay attention, though this does not mean that the only people who drink pop are over weight by any means.
Every can of pop has roughly 40g of sugar. One teaspoon of sugar is about 4.2g, so do the math. A can of pop contains roughly 9 TEASPOONS of sugar. WOW! A dinky little can contains that much sugar? Once I learned this fact, I realised that a large part of my past weight issue was due to drinking 5-6 cans of mountain dew everyday. I was shocked to find out that I was consuming about 54 teaspoons of sugar just from the soda I was drinking. This didn't include the other 3,000 calories worth of food I consumed with it which was high in fat and sugar as well.
The facts go to show just how bad it is to drink pop, not much else needs said. My advice is get away from soda now, drink lots of water, roughly at least half a gallon per day, and also stay away from sports drinks, as they have about the same amount of sugar as pop does. Steer away from pop, and you will definitely notice results within a couple weeks, granted you are exercising and dieting correctly. Well, see you guys soon, and good luck on your health goals.

Working Your Abs
Well, I was at the gym today as I pondered what it was I was going to present in my post today. If you are joining me for the first time, my name is Andrew, and I am on a mission to fight the obesity epidemic that appears to have America in a choke hold. Every other day I work my abs significantly. I don't just do a couple sets of crunches, I go full out with 5-6 different exercises that work my entire core. Achieving great abs is not an easy thing to do, and today I am going to explain the system of muscles that make up the core, and how to obtain killer abs.
Let me start off by pointing out that there is no easy way to achieve abs of steel. As you watch tv, you may notice the commercials advertising ab machines and diets that are guaranteed to build excellent abs. Do not waste your time or money on these items, they simply do not work as well as the traditional methods. If you refrain from purchasing these advertised items, you wont break your wallet, and you will see better results by working for your beach body abs.
" The abdominals are made up of different muscles on the front, side, and middle of the abdominal area. When we think of the abs, most of us are focused on the lat muscle that travels down the front of the belly, from just below the chest to the pelvic area. This muscle, called the "rectus abdominis," is often called the "six-pack," because there are three tendinous creases there that separate the muscle, giving it the washboard look. The rectus abdominis is responsible for spine flexion, which involves bringing the shoulders toward the hips, as in a crunch, and is involved in most abdominal exercises.
There are other muscles beside the six-pack, though. The internal and external obliques are located on either side of the body, attaching on to the ribs, and are responsible for spine flexion and rotation. Whenever you turn or rotate the torso, the obliques are involved. The external obliques run diagonally (in the same direction as if you were putting your hand in a pocket), and the transverse abdominis is actually and internal muscle forming the innermost layer of the abdominal wall. The muscle wraps around the spine and is involved in abdomen compression, rather than movements of the torso."

Why should you work your abs?
It's very important to build your core and work your abs, as doing this will help protect your body from injury. That's right, having a more powerful core protects your spine and allows for a better posture. You also use your abs while doing everyday activities such as swooping and turning.
How often should one train their abs?
It is commonly recommended to work your abs 3-4 times a week. I personally follow this example and work mine every other day. Let me explain how abs really work. you cannot simple aim toward working your abs and obtain a great six-pack. You must reduce over-all body fat percentage in order to allow the abs to show through. No matter how hard you work your abs, if your diet is not proper, and you cease to perform cardio exercises, you simply will not achieve the abs you seem to be working hard for. Building great abs is about 75%-90% diet and fat burning exercising.
If you are interested in the ab workouts I use personally or would like any recommendations, just leave a comment and I will reply back with any requested information. I will continue to attack obesity one post at a time. Thanks for reading and stop back soon.

Weight Loss Pills
With a problem that seems to be out of control, many of us are turning to alternate actions to fight against the obesity epidemic. When diet and exercise just doesn't seem to be enough, we find ourselves turning to weight loss pills or medication. If used correctly, pills that aid in the fight to reach weight loss goals can be a wonderful contribution toward success. I would recommend that you do not come to rely on weight loss medication or use it incorrectly, as you will not achieve the results you may desire.
If you are going to use weight loss pills to contribute to the success of your weight loss plan we discussed in the weight loss techniques post, I would recommend staying focused on other important factors. Keep in mind that weight loss medication does not work to its fullest effect if a proper diet is not followed and physical activity is kept to a minimum. You must continue to stay active by working out at least 30 minutes per day or every other day. You must also continue to pursue a low fat diet with a proper amount of carbs and protein. If you can stay committed to all aspects of striving for a healthy new you, you can ensure the best results possible for your body and mind.
A great weight loss pill choice is the Alli weight loss pill. It's a great over the counter pill that is FDA approved and is more than just a pill. It's a weight loss program that is designed to help you meet your needs. The great thing about it is that it prevents your body from absorbing all the fat it takes in. If purchased, Alli weight loss pill includes an online action plan to help individuals obtain their weight loss goals. Its a great product and it works. My mother used this product for nearly 6 months, and she lost 35 pounds. I watched as this product produced results. That's why I believe in it, and I would recommend it to anyone trying to get into better shape.
